A very elegant Antique Edwardian Sterling Silver three-piece travelling communion set consisting of chalice, paten, and wine ewer. The chalice having a plain round bellied body, a gold-gilt interior, and sitting on a pedestal foot. The paten having a round body with an applied Chippendale border, and sitting on a pedestal foot. The wine ewer having a plain bellied body, a pull-off top with cork stopper and cruciform finial, a scroll side-handle, and sitting on a pedestal foot. All three pieces are hand-engraved with an IHS Christogram, and they are all sitting in their original dark blue satin and velvet-lined presentation box. This beautiful communion service was made by Charles Cook of Chester in 1905. The dimensions of this fine hand-made antique silver travelling communion set are height of chalice 8.5 cms (3.3 inches), diameter of paten 7 cms (2.75 inches), height of wine ewer 11 cms (4.25 inches), and with a total weight of approx. 160g (5.2 troy ounces). Please note that the paten has a contemporaneous presentation inscription underneath.
