An Antique Victorian Sterling Silver three-piece travelling communion set consisting of chalice, paten, and wine bottle. The chalice having a plain round body with a middle baluster stem, and sitting on a pedestal foot. The paten having a plain round body with a flat border, and sitting on a pedestal foot. The wine bottle having a plain round screw-off corked lid, and the glass body with hand-cut panelled decoration. All three pieces sit in their original purple satin and velvet-lined presentation box. Made by Horace Woodward and Co., of Birmingham in 1882. The dimensions of this fine hand-made antique silver travelling communion set are height of chalice 9 cms (3.5 inches), diameter of paten 7 cms (2.75 inches), height of bottle 10 cms (4 inches), and with a total weight of approx. 93g (3 troy ounces). Please note that the interior material lining is stained, there is damage to the wooden box where the clasp is, and there is a contemporaneous inscription underneath the paten.
