A large, heavy, and very handsome Sterling Silver testavine or wine taster, having a round body, with hand-chased grape-vine decoration, a cast snake head loop handle, and sitting on a flat base with bead-work decoration and inlet coin. Made by D. and J. Welby of London in 1925. The dimensions of this fine hand-made silver wine taster testavine are diameter 9.5 cms (3.75 inches), and height 3 cms (1.25 inch), and it weighs approx. 96g (3 troy ounces).
