A very handsome Antique Victorian Sterling Silver wine ewer, having a plain round bellied body, a cast figural scroll handle, an elegant plain spout with an applied rim, and all sitting on a round pedestal foot. This beautiful antique silver ewer was made by James Samuel Hunt (the Royal Silversmith of the time) of London in 1864. The dimensions of this fine hand-made antique silver wine ewer are height 30 cms (11.75 inches), length 15 cms (6 inches), and it weighs approx. 676g (21.8 troy ounces). Please note that this item has a vacant cartouche at the front surrounded by a hand-engraved Latin inscription, Fortiter In Re (Gentle in Manner, Firm in Action).

This handsome antique silver ewer was made by the Barnard Brothers of London in 1849. Made by William Hutton of London in 1896 and 1899. The dimensions of these fine hand-made silver wine ewers are height 32 cms (12.5 inches), length 15 cms (6 inches), and they weigh a total of 1,085g (35 troy ounces). Please note that because these ewers were made within three years of each other the body of the 1896 ewer is slightly larger in diameter.
