A large and very handsome Antique Georgian Sterling Silver water or beer jug, having a round body with hand-chased half-fluted decoration, plain pouring spout, an insulated scroll handle, a hinged domed lid with cast acanthus leaf thumb-piece, and sitting on a plain round pedestal foot. Made by J. McKay of Edinburgh in 1811. The dimensions of this fine hand-made antique silver beer or water jug are height 23 cms (9 inches), length 26 cms (10.25 inches), and it weighs approx. 991g (32 troy ounces)
