Antique Victorian sterling silver water or beer jug, having a plain round baluster body, with insulated scroll handle, a hinged domed lid with hand-pierced thumb-piece, a spout with hand-chased Bacchus face, a gold-gilt interior, and all sitting on a collet foot. Made by Robert Hennell of London in 1871. The dimensions of this fine hand-made silver beer or water jug are height 21 cms (8.25 inches), length 20 cms (8 inches), and it weighs approx. 777g (25 troy ounces). |
