Antique Victorian sterling silver vinaigrette, having a rectangular body with with engine-engraved decoration and a vacant cartouche, a hinged lid, a gold-gilt interior with hinged hand-pierced and chased grill, and a side ring. Made by Aston & Son, of Birmingham in 1858. The dimensions of this fine hand-made silver vinaigrette are length 2 cms (0.75 inches), and width 1.5 cms (0.5 inches).
