Antique Victorian sterling silver vinaigrette, having a rectangular shaped body with hand-engraved floral decoration and a vacant cartouche, a hinged lid, and a gold-gilt interior with hinged hand-pierced and chased grill. Made by Edward Smith of Birmingham in 1843. The dimensions of this fine hand-made silver vinaigrette are length 3.5 cms (1.3 inches), and width 2.5 cms (1 inch).
