A very handsome and large Sterling Silver trophy cup and cover in a George III neocclassical style, having a round plain body with tapering sides, with hand-chased reeded borders, two looped side-handles with anthemion leaf ends, an original cover with matching decoration and cast knop finial, and all sitting on a pedestal foot. Made by James Dixon and Sons of Sheffield in 1926. The dimensions of this fine hand-made silver trophy cup and cover are height 42 cms (16.5 inches), spread across arms 28 cms (11 inches), and it weighs approx. 1,413g (45.6 troy ounces).
