A very handsome Antique Georgian Sterling Silver seven-bar toast-rack, having rectangular shaped wire-work bars with hand-chased reeded decoration, a rectangular handle with vacant cartouche panel below, all attached to a flat rectangular base with strengthening struts, and sitting on four ball feet. Made by Joseph Biggs of London in 1816. The dimensions of this fine hand-made antique silver toast-rack are length 17 cms (6.75 inches), height 11 cms (4.25 inches), width 9 cms (3.5 inches), and it weighs approx. 162g (5.2 troy ounces). |
