A very unusual Arts and Crafts style Antique Victorian Sterling Silver seven-bar toast-rack, in a very angular style inspired by a Christopher Dresser design, attached to a rectangular base with a reeded border and a strengthening strut, and sitting on four cast foliate and scroll feet. Made by Henry Stratford (who had links with Christopher Dresser) of Sheffield in 1893. The dimensions of this fine hand-made antique silver toast-rack are length 16 cms (6.25 inches), height 14 cms (5.5 inches), width 10 cms (4 inches), and it weighs approx. 348g (11.2 troy ounces). |
