ANTIQUE SILVER TEA SETS

#e9071 -

An Antique Georgian Sterling silver three-piece Neoclassical style tea set, having a teapot, sugar bowl and cream jug. The bodies all hand-engraved with bands of floral decoration and central cartouches, the sugar and creamer with applied reeded borders and pedestal feet, the teapot with wooden handle and finial, a flat base, and an invisibly hinged lid. Made by Samuel Meriton II of London in 1790/91. The dimensions of this fine hand-made silver tea service are length of teapot 27 cms (10.5 inches), height 14 cms (5.5 inches), and it weighs a total of approx. 830g (26.8 troy ounces). Please note that the teapot handle has had a small old repair close to the pins, but it does not affect the teapots usability, or deter from its prettiness.
