Antique Georgian Britannia standard silver tea caddy box, having a straight-sided octagonal body with readed edges, and a round pull-off lid with finial (that doubled as a measure). Made in the George I period by Gundry Roode (possibbly) and hallmarked for London in 1715. The dimensions of this fine hand-made silver tea caddy box are height 12 cms (4.75 inches), length 8 cms (3 inches), width 5.5 cms (2.25 inches), and it weighs approx. 175g (5.6 troy ounces). |
