Antique Victorian sterling silver tea caddy box, having an octagonal straight-sided body, cast urn-shape finial sitting on a lid with flat hidden hinge, with hand-engraved neoclassical greek-key work, and an octagonal cartouche with crest. Made by John Edwards of London in 1854. Height 12 cms (4.75 inches), length 12 cms (4.75 inches), width 8 cms (3 inches). Weight approx. 449g (14.5 troy ounces). |
