An Antique Georgian Sterling Silver large soup tureen in a boat-shape neoclassical style, having a very plain oval body with a pull-off lid and an urn-shaped finial, with applied gadroon borders, two reeded scroll side-handles, and all sitting on a pedestal foot. Made by Cornelius Bland of London in 1789. The dimensions of this fine hand-made antique silver soup tureen and cover are height 28 cms (11 inches), length including handles 52 cms (20.5 inches), width 25.5 cms (10 inches), and it weighs approx. 2,850g (92 troy ounces). |
