A rare and beautiful Antique Victorian Sterling Silver and gold-gilt large and heavy snuff box, having a rectangular body with applied cast foliate borders, a hinged lid with an applied panel with foliate border and vacant cartouche, the base with an applied panel having hand-engraved foliate & geometrical decoration, the sides with hand-chased floral work. Made by Fredrick Marson of Birmingham in 1848. The dimensions of this fine hand-made antique silver snuff box are length 9 cms (3.5 inches), width 6 cms (2.3 inches), depth 3 cms (1.25 inches), and it weighs approx. 167g (5.3 troy ounces).
