Antique Victorian sterling silver covered muffin dish, having a lift-off lid with half-fluted decoration and wooden finial, a removable plate (which can double as a serving dish) with a gadroon edge, and a deep base for hot water (or crushed ice) with two cast handles. Made by William Hutton and Sons of London in 1898. Height 15 cms (6 inches), diameter of removable plate 20 cms (8 inches). Total weight approx. 550g (17.7 troy ounces). |
