Antique Georgian pair of entree dishes with covers, having rectangular bodies with rounded corners, bayonet-fit removable gadroon and shell handles, gadroon borders, and sitting on flat bases. Made by Joseph Angell of London in 1817. The dimensions of this pair of fine hand-made antique silver entree dishes and covers are length 29 cms (11.5 inches), height including handle 13 cms (5 inches), width 21.5 cms (8.5 inches), and they weigh a total of approx. 3,120g (101 troy ounces). Please note that these are crested, and the Latin motto has been translated as The Moon Shall Fill Her Horns Again. |
