A beautiful and large Sterling Silver altar chalice with hand-hammered decoration, having a plain round cup with tapering sides, a hexagonal column with a middle baluster which has applied cast floral corners and the engraved Latin liturgy of Agnus Dei (Lamb of God) between a double band of applied rope-twist work, and all sitting on a spreading pedestal foot with rope-twist border. Made by Albert John Watts of London in 1944. The dimensions of this fine hand-made silver altar chalice are height 18.5 cms (7.25 inches), width at base 16.5 cms (6.5 inches), and it weighs approx. 600g (19 troy ounces).
