A very handsome and large Antique Victorian Sterling Silver altar chalice, having a plain round bellied cup with a gold-gilt interior, a hexagonal column with middle baluster having hand-pierced and applied cruciform decoration, and a lobed spreading hexagonal foot with a stepped lower border. Made by John Figg (poss.) of London in 1866. The dimensions of this fine hand-made antique silver altar chalice are height 20 cms (8 inches), diameter of cup 11cms (4.3 inches), diameter at base 13.5 cms (5.3 inches), and it weighs approx. 367g (12 troy ounces). Please note that this has hand-engraved Christograms on the foot and cup. |
