Antique Victorian sterling silver chalice and paten with wooden wafer box, having round bodies with hand-engraved christograms and bands diamond work, a gold-gilt interior to the chalice together with a hexafoil base, and the wafer box lid having a hand-engraved cross. Made by the Lias Brothers of London in 1873. The dimensions of this fine hand-made silver chalice and paten are height of chalice 14 cms (5.5 inches), diameter at lip 8 cms (3 inches), diameter of paten 13 cms (5 inches), with a total weight of silver being 236g (7.6 troy ounces). |
