A very large and handsome Antique Edwardian Scottish Sterling Silver Ciborium, having a plain round body with a gold-gilt interior and applied reeded borders, sitting on a round pedestal foot with a swirl-fluted middle baluster, and a lift-off lid with double cruciform finial. Made by John Alexander Fettes of Glasgow in 1908. The dimensions of this fine hand-made and large antique silver ciborium and cover are height 28 cms (11 inches), diameter of cup 18.5 cms (7.25 inches), and it weighs a total of approx. 1,217g (39 troy ounces). Please note that this is the largest ciborium we have ever seen and is shown with a standard 75cl wine bottle for display purposes only and to give an indication of its size.
