An Antique Victorian Sterling Silver very rare and unusual travelling chalice, in the shape of an octagonal shaped baptismal font, the top piece, which screws into the base, having a gold-gilt interior and hand-chased panels with anthemion leaves and angel faces, the pedestal base with matching panel work and leaves, and all in its original dark-blue satin and velvet-lined presentation box. Made by George Fox of London in 1863. The dimensions of this fine hand-made antique silver travelling chalice are height 10 cms (4 inches), diameter at top 9 cms (3.5 inches), with a total weight of approx. 172g (5.5 troy ounces). |
