An Irish Sterling Silver altar chalice and paten, having a plain round tapering gold-gilt cup, a panelled column with a middle baluster, and a spreading pedestal foot, all hand-chased and engraved with floral & geometrical work, together with a plain round gold-gilt paten. Made by the same maker (J.S) of Dublin in 1935/39. The dimensions of this fine hand-made silver chalice & paten are height 23 cms (9 inches), diameter at base 13.5 cms (5.3 inches), and it weighs approx. 607g (19.6 troy ounces). Please note that there is an inscription under the base.
