A very handsome and heavy Sterling Silver Ciborium, having a plain round body with a gold-gilt interior, a plain round lift-off lid with a cast urn-shaped finial, a hand-chased floral and jewel style central baluster, and all sitting on a hexagonal pedestal foot with applied reeded borders. This elegant silver ciborium was made by A. L. Davenport of Birmingham in 1938. The dimensions of this fine hand-made silver ciborium are height 23 cms (9 inches), diameter of cup 12.5 cms (5 inches), and it weighs a total of approx. 795g (25.6 troy ounces).
