A very handsome Sterling Silver altar chalice and paten, having a round hand-hammered tapering cup, a middle baluster with an applied gadroon band, and a spreading hexagonal pedestal foot with applied double gadroon borders, together with a round hand-hammered paten. This elegant silver chalice and paten was made by Hurst, Franklin and Co., of London in 1954 (the paten made in 1959). The dimensions of this fine hand-made silver chalice and paten are height 19.5 cms (7.75 inches), diameter of paten 15.5 cms (6 inches), and it weighs approx. 573g (18.5 troy ounces). |
