A very beautiful Sterling Silver and Gold-Gilt Ciborium, having a round body with a band of hand-engraved floral motifs, a plain round lift-off lid with cast cruciform finial, a hand-chased swirl-fluted central baluster, and all sitting on a round pedestal foot base with hand-engraved oval cartouches of wheat-sheaves and applied rope-twist borders. Made by Hayes and Finch Ltd., of London in 1951. The dimensions of this fine hand-made silver and gold-gilt ciborium are height 23.5 cms (9.25 inches), diameter of cup 12 cms (4.75 inches), and it weighs a total of approx. 730g (23.5 troy ounces).
