A large and heavy Antique Edwardian Sterling Silver altar chalice, having a plain round bellied cup, an octagonal column with middle baluster having hand-pierced decoration and applied leopards heads, and a spreading concave octagonal foot with a gadroon lower borer. Made by Frederick Wray of London in 1910. The dimensions of this fine hand-made antique silver altar chalice are height 20 cms (8 inches), diameter of cup 12cms (4.75 inches), across foot 16 cms (6.3 inches), and it weighs approx. 584g (18.8 troy ounces). |
