ANTIQUE SILVER COMMUNION SETS

A very handsome Antique Victorian Sterling Silver three-piece travelling communion set consisting of chalice, paten, and wine ewer. The chalice having a plain round bellied body with a hexagonal stem and shaped round pedestal foot. The paten having a round body with an applied reeded border, and sitting on a flat base. The wine ewer having a plain bellied body, a pull-off top with cork stopper and cruciform finial, a scroll side-handle, and sitting on a matching pedestal foot. All three pieces are hand-engraved with an IHS Christogram, and they are all sitting in their original dark blue velvet-lined presentation box which has a contemporaneous presentation inscription on a brass plaque. This beautiful communion service was all made by Walker and Hall of Sheffield in 1896. The dimensions of this fine hand-made antique silver travelling communion set are height of chalice 9 cms (3.5 inches), diameter of paten 8.5 cms (3.3 inches), height of wine ewer 10.5 cms (4 inches), and with a total weight of approx. 238g (7.7 troy ounces).
