The paten having a plain round body, and sitting on a collet foot. The wine bottle having a plain round body with pull-off lid, and a cork seal. The anointing spoon having a plain oval bowl and cruciform finial. The pyx box having a plain round body with pull-off lid. All sitting in their original dark blue satin and velvet-lined presentation box. Made by Elkington and Co., of Birmingham in 1934. The dimensions of this fine hand-made silver travelling communion set are height of chalice 9.5 cms (3.75 inches), diameter of paten 8 cms (3.25 inches), length of spoon 11 cms (4.25 inches), and with a total weight of approx. 214g (6.9 troy ounces).
