A very unusual and handsome Antique Victorian Silver Plated three-piece travelling communion set consisting of a chalice, paten, and wine bottle. The chalice having a round body with a gold-gilt interior, and sitting on a pedestal foot with a gadroon border. The paten having a round body sitting on a pedestal foot with a gadroon border. The wine bottle having a round body with a flat base and screw-off corked lid. All three pieces are hand-engraved with Christograms and a band of grapevine decoration, and sit in their original dark blue velvet-lined presentation box. All made in ca. 1848, with a contemporaneous inscription on the chalice. The dimensions of this fine hand-made antique silver-plated travelling communion set are height of chalice 10 cms (4 inches), diameter of paten 6.5 cms (2.5 inches), and height of bottle 9.5 cms (3.75 inches).
