An Antique early Victorian Sterling Silver three-piece travelling communion set consisting of chalice, paten, and wine bottle. The chalice having a plain round bellied body, a gold-gilt interior, and sitting on a pedestal foot. The paten having a round body with an applied reeded and shaped border, and sitting on a collet foot. The wine bottle having a plain rectangular body with cut-corners and round screw-off lid, with a crystal stopper. All three pieces are hand-engraved with a Christogram, and they are all sitting in their original maroon velvet-lined presentation box. Made by John Evans II of London in 1844. The dimensions of this fine hand-made antique silver travelling communion set are height of chalice 9 cms (3.5 inches), diameter of paten 6.5 cms (2.5 inches), length of bottle 8cms (3.25 inches), and with a total weight of approx. 131g (4.2 troy ounces). |
