A very handsome and unusual Neptune themed Antique Victorian Sterling Silver cigar / cigarette box, having a rectangular body with applied rope-twist borders, laurel-leaf swags, Neptune face masks, and inter-twined dolphins, a hinged lid with an applied central oval cartouche with a scene of Neptune, mermaids, and sea-horses, a varnished wood-lined interior, and all sitting on four cast dolphin feet. Made by Reid and Sons of London in 1901. The dimensions of this fine hand-made antique silver table box are length 26 cms (10 inches), width 14 cms (5.5 inches), and height 8 cms (3 inches).
