A handsome Sterling Silver three-piece christening set, consisting of a plain round napkin ring, a plain round egg cup with applied floral and scroll borders and a gold-gilt interior, and a plain Hanoverian pattern spoon with a gold-gilt bowl, all in their original cream satin and black velvet-lined presentation box. This elegant christening set was made by Turner and Simpson Birmingham in 1960 (the napkin ring was made by Henry Matthews of Birmingham in 1935). The dimensions of this fine hand-made silver christening set are length of spoon 10 cms (4 inches), diameter of napkin ring 4.5 cms (1.75 inches), height of egg cup 6.5 cms (2.75 inches), and the total weight is approx. 56g (1.8 troy ounces). |
