Antique Georgian sterling silver calling card case, having a rectangular body, with hand-engraved wavey-work decoration, a central cartouche with Ducal Coronet, a gold-gilt interior, and a side-hinged lid with thumb-piece. Made by Thomas Shaw of Birmingham in ca. 1820. The dimensions of this fine hand-made silver card case are length 8.5 cms (3.3 inches), width 5.5 cms (2.25 inches), and it weighs approx. 100g (3.2 troy ounces). |
