A very handsome Antique Victorian Sterling Silver butter shell dish and butter knife, having a hand-chased scalloped body, and sitting on three cast conch-shell feet. The butter shell made by Francis Higgins of London in 1885, and the butter knife made by Charles Boyton of London in 1887. The dimensions of this fine hand-made antique silver butter dish shell are length 12 cms (4.75 inches), width 10 cms (4 inches), and the total weight including knife is approx 98g (3.2 troy ounces). |
