A very pretty and unusual Antique Victorian Sterling Silver and hand-cut crystal biscuit jar, having an oval crystal body with hand-cut hobnail and star-cut work, a plain oval mechanical lid which opens when moving the plain hinged swing-handle either left or right, and all sitting on a flat star-cut base. Made by Heath and Middleton of Birmingham in 1899. The dimensions of this fine hand-made antique silver and crystal biscuit jar are height (excluding handle) 13 cms (5 inches), length 16.5 cms (6.5 inches), and width 9 cms (3.5 inches).
