A very pretty Antique Victorian Sterling Silver and hand-cut crystal claret jug, having a hand-chased mount with floral and scroll decoration, a Bacchus face on the spout, a hinged domed lid with cast finial, a scrolled cast handle with anthemion leaf work, and a round hand-cut straight-sided body with hobnail and clear flute pattern. Made by Henry Wigfall of Sheffield in 1898. The dimensions of this fine hand-made antique silver and crystal claret jug are height 29 cms (11.5 inches), length 17 cms (6.75 inches).
